COVID-19 Update

As of March 23, Governor Lamont has ordered that all “legal services” are considered to be essential services. Thus, our office will remain open during this time. However, in an effort to protect ourselves and our clients and limit the spread of the virus, we have modified our working conditions and hours. Effective immediately, and until further notice, we are restricting most in person meetings. Additionally, most of our staff members will be working remotely. If you need to visit the office to sign a document or to retrieve a critical document, please contact the main office number (203-238-1010) and speak with a staff member to coordinate your visit. All visitors are asked to wash their hands upon entering the building. They are also advised to avoid coming to the office if they are exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms such as cough, fever, and/or shortness of breath.

The state judicial system is open on a limited basis. However, most filing deadlines in the judicial system have virtually halted and, except for a few very limited exceptions, court hearings have been cancelled through early May. For additional information, please visit the Connecticut judicial branch website: https://www.jud.ct.gov/.

The workers’ compensation system is open on a limited basis. District offices are closed and all hearings will be conducted telephonically until further notice. Our office continues to monitor any active workers’ compensation files. Weekly checks should continue without interruption. For more information, please visit the Connecticut Workers’ Compensation Commission website: https://wcc.state.ct.us/.

We continue to stay informed of all of these changes. This is a fluid situation and changes are occurring daily. Rest assured, we are staying on top of our existing cases and we are taking on new clients as well. If you have any questions, please contact our office at 203-238-1010 or firm@mqmlawyer.com.

We will get through this unprecedented situation together. Stay well.
